What is Mercanto?

Mercanto is a modern e-commerce platform built on Magento-style architecture — the EAV model for flexible attributes, plus simple, configurable, grouped, and bundle product types. On top of that foundation it adds an agentic layer: a published Universal Commerce Protocol (UCP) discovery document and an embedded Model Context Protocol (MCP) endpoint, so an AI agent can search the catalog, resolve variants, build a cart, and complete a checkout the same way a person does.

The catalog spans 60,000+ products drawn from multiple retail sources, a curated Lookbook of shoppable outfit "looks" (each a bundle of individually purchasable pieces), configurable apparel with real color and size variants, and a related-products graph that powers "you may also like" for both people and agents.

Grouped sets buy every item together; bundles let shoppers pick any subset of slots — the engine expands each into real cart lines with required-slot enforcement.

Lookbook

A dedicated shoppable outfit experience — filter looks by occasion and formality, open a look to see its pieces, and buy them individually or as a complete set.

Relevance Search

OpenSearch-powered full-text search with attribute-aware ranking, typo tolerance, synonyms, multi-value filters and live facet aggregations.

Similar & Related

A scored related-products graph drives the "you may also like" carousel and gives agents ready alternative suggestions with reasons.

UCP & MCP for Agents

A /.well-known/ucp discovery document and an embedded MCP endpoint expose search, product detail, cart and checkout as tools — with order-access tokens and idempotent, fail-closed payment handling.

Cart & Checkout

Guest and customer carts, coupons, admin-configurable shipping and payment methods, and concurrency-safe order placement with cart-level idempotency.

Admin & Settings

Catalog, category, order and customer management with filters, plus Magento-style store configuration for general, payment, shipping, inventory and provider integrations.

Payments & Shipping

Pluggable, admin-enabled provider abstraction (Stripe, PayPal, UPS, FedEx) following the Magento method/carrier pattern — disabled by default, any provider extendable.

Sage AI Concierge

A conversational shopping agent — available standalone and embedded in the storefront — that browses, compares, curates outfits and checks out through the same commerce APIs.
